Well today was the first day of school for both of our boys. Chris started 6th grade and Rowan is about to start going to the 3 year old program at Jenks. I just ended a pretty wonderful day during a really good weekend so I thought I’d share. Really what made today special was sharing my adoption of Chris with our church family. After talking about [...] I’m proud to announce I’m a brand new dad again. I’m officially and legally Chris’ father now. Ali and I had wanted to do a stepparent adoption of Chris for a while and we finally got it taken care of today. It was a great experience. A little bit nerve-wracking just being in a courtroom [...] We picked Chris up last Saturday at Dwight Mission near Sallisaw, OK. For those who don’t know, Dwight Mission was established in 1829 as a school for Native Americans. It is now a site for summer camps and church retreats for the Presbyterian church. Chris went last year for a week and wanted to do [...] I think many of you will have got them by now if we got them mailed to you (we did our best), but here’s our christmas card photo for 2008. Maybe next year you’ll get to see me and Ali in the picture. We’re just not quite as cute as these two fellas. If you [...] So the Jenks 5th grade classes spent the last week performing their musical program, “Pirates!” It was a great show made more exciting by Chris having a major role as Bluebeard. He worked very hard to learn all his lines and did a great job. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if his microphone was turned on, [...] I hope everyone has a great Halloween. We’re looking forward to trick or treating this year with Rowan. Last year it was cold and he was probably too little to trick or treat. Plus he screamed when he had his costume on. This year he is doing a little better with his costume so without [...] Well the game in Pryor turned out to be a little too tough for Jenks Maroon. We lost 20-6. The boys just didn’t come out to play like they had the past few games and Pryor came out and played really well. It was very cold. I worked the chain gang and by the end [...] Well the last game of the season was a rousing success. Of course a much better description is on the team site, but long story short Jenks Maroon beat South Tulsa Silver 45-0. The boys really came to play and are playing very well going into the playoffs winning their last 3 games by a [...] |
